A competitive indigenous games squad have been selected to represent the Eastern Cape province on national level competition on the 23th till 29 in heritage month. The selection took place at Buffalo City Metro, East London.
All the Districts of the Province are competing for selection to represent Eastern Cape at the National Games to be held during the Heritage Month in KZN. Featured in the lineup will be games such as Iintonga, Drie Stokkies, Kgati, Dibeke and many more.
Nkosinathi Biko Chairperson of Indigenous Games Council says the selection process went well and the selected squad showed an extreme talent.
We are going to cause havoc in Durban during indigenous games because of the squad we have, as a council we re happy and satisfied. – said Biko
The EC Indigenous Games are an initiative aimed at promoting our African identity, cultural diversity, education and training, as well as the preservation and revival of South African indigenous games.
