A heartbreaking funeral service was held for the Seti family, who fell victim to a brutal attack in Ncenjana village, Bityi. Siphiwo Seti (78), his wife Nowinile (64), daughter Alina (39), and grandchildren Azakhe (17) and Akhanya (13) were tragically killed.

On October 18, two gunmen stormed their homestead, killing the elderly couple and then attacking another house, injuring two children. The survivors alerted police, leading to the arrest of two suspects (39 and 22) facing murder, attempted murder, and robbery charges.

The community is shaken, citing recent mass murders, including the killing of two elderly women and rape of five Grade 12 learners. Calls for justice and prevention grow, with suggestions of horse patrols to combat crime in inaccessible terrain. The provincial government vows to monitor progress and support affected families.
