After Failed Attempts to Securing a Prolific Striker Kaizer Chiefs Announce the Signing of Ex Trialist.
The Phefeni Glamour boys announced the signing of Burundian striker, Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana who was part of the players who were assessed by the club in the past weeks leading to the start of the season but surprisingly he was released without any sign of a deal. Chiefs’ Head Coach was clear on the type of striker they are searching for with many failed attempts that included negotiation with Royal AM for the signature of Victor Letsoale who was, according to Zwane, the more suited striker for the way he plans to structure the team.
However, the Cup Kings were not deterred by the developments in the Royal AM negotiations and were determined to find the perfect man as they assessed a number of strikers in pre-season while their scouts were busy looking for suitable candidates outside the country but nothing materials.
Signs Of Desperation Crips In at Natuerena!
During the personnel overhaul, the Glamour Boys make a couple of key signings to strengthen the team in the middle of the park and the back after acquiring the services of Zitha Kwinika, Siyathemba Sithebe, Dillan Solomons and a host of other players that included what could be termed as their “marquee” signing this season, Ashley Du Preeze who is their only striker.
After last weekend’s humiliating drubbing at the hands of defending champions, Mamelody Sundowns, the higher powers at Chiefs seem to have hit a panic button and have recalled the Burundian towering striker even though they had initially released him with indications that he was not exactly what they were looking for.
Chiefs looks to play more games without their most prolific striker, Ashley Du Preez who is sidelined by injuries while Billiat is said to be experiencing symptoms of a fever ahead of this weekends game against Richards Bay. Chiefs are thin in attacking and this has rung alarm bells in the offices. It’s a crisis of high decrement.
Is the Burundian The Right Man for a Team Like Chiefs?
To his credit the 25-year-old has enough experience for the PSL having played in a number of leagues in Africa and overseas. However, with Chiefs looking to at least finish the season with Silver wear after Seven of dormancy the question is, can he deliver the goals needed to achieve that? Well, here is the stats since he started his professional career:
