Cypeth Dress Making & Design in Highland View, established in 2014, has been empowering both young and older unemployed individuals through inclusive courses in sewing and design. The school offers a three-month course for semi-skilled individuals, a six-month program, and a year-long comprehensive course.
On November 25th, Cypeth proudly hosted a graduation and fashion show at the Oliver Tambo Cultural Village, showcasing the achievements of five students and emphasizing the school’s commitment to recognizing learner accomplishments.
Cypeth stands against discrimination, welcoming individuals with special needs to provide equal opportunities. According to Ma’am Malimba, the school’s founder, this approach aligns with their vision of creating an inclusive learning environment.
Ma’am Malimba expressed pride in students supplying school tracksuits and grade R gowns to at least 25 children. The school’s emphasis on practical skills ensures graduates can make a meaningful impact in their communities.
Khanyisa Mnyukana, with no prior background, now confidently designs and creates clothes independently. The thirty-three-year-old aspires to open her own boutique, a dream she believes is achievable with the newfound skills acquired at Cypeth Dress Making & Design.
