Couple to host mass wedding on their anniversary

Founders and owners of Bags on Call events, Odwa and Nwabisa Wopula, the married couple are set to host a mass wedding in Lusikisiki College in March 2023.

In celebration of their own 18th anniversary next year, they have decided to make it extra special by hosting five couples who wish to celebrate their weddings but cannot due to financial challenges.

She said that they are still in the shortlisting process after couples submitted their applications earlier this year.

“We want to host a fullfilling event that will hold special memories even to us as organisers.” said Nwabisa

The couple said that they will be selling tickets for the events in means to control crowding. They are relying on donations and profits that the company makes in order to fund the mass wedding.

The couple left their corporate workplaces, Nwabisa Wopula was a former  Area Manager in the banking sector and her husband a former Technical Manager in the Mobile Telecommunications Network sector.

We were driven by passion, the love of seeing and hosting events in celebration of life that is how our events company was born. – said the couple

Bags on call events started in 2018 as a boutique decor that specialised in weddings and birthdays. She said that during the global pandemic they had to expand and explore into providing their services for funerals. Through providing beautiful send offs of their client’s loved ones.
