On 30 September 2025, Councillor Amanda Jakuja officially took the oath of office at the Alfred Nzo District Municipality headquarters, signifying her entry into the District Council. She replaces Councillor Nkosomzi Nomnganga, who vacated the seat in 2023.
What Happened
Councillor Amanda Jakuja was sworn in as a councillor for the Alfred Nzo District Municipality in a formal ceremony held at the municipality’s eMaXesibeni offices. The event was overseen by Speaker of Council Sixolile Mehlomakulu, with Municipal Manager Mr. Zamile Sikhundla and members of the administration in attendance.
Councillor Jakuja joins the District Council as a representative of Umzimvubu Local Municipality, filling the seat left vacant by Councillor Nomnganga.
