On 21 October 2025, the Blue Crane Route Municipality (BCRM), in partnership with Polyco PRO, handed over Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) uniforms to 45 waste pickers in Kwa-Nojoli. The initiative aims to improve worker safety, support livelihoods, and strengthen recycling efforts within the community.

The event is a major step in the municipality’s commitment to sustainable waste management and community upliftment. The PPE handover provided waste pickers — who play a vital role in recycling and environmental care with essential protective clothing and equipment.
The partnership with Polyco PRO will not only safeguard waste pickers from workplace hazards but also enhance the efficiency of recycling activities in the area.
Official Response
Both the Municipal Manager and the Director of Community Services commended the waste pickers for their contribution to environmental sustainability. They reaffirmed BCRM’s support for local waste management initiatives.
