Bizana dance music duo, 039 King has been nominated in the Best House Music category in this year’s Mzansi Arts and Media Awards. The awards are aimed at offering much-needed spotlight on young, up and coming artists and content creators all over South Africa. MAMAs are decided by a public vote and the duo is pleading for the public to help them bring this accolade home.
After a horrible year for the entertainment industry there are a few artists who kept the light shining and us, entertained during the rough patch and the duo of 039 Kings is one of those entertainers. In 2020 they released a series of hit singles that performed well on streaming platform which included the hit single Summertime ft fellow vocalist, Ovee Msebenzi. In 2021 they featured on Dj Spin’s chart toping hit single Xola Mama alongside Ovee Msebenzi. Phakamani Ntulii, one half of the duo has urged their fans and the people of Bizana and Alfred Nzo to help them win the Best House Music artist award by casting their votes through the SMS number. “The past two years have been tough for us as performing artists but we always try and put in the work that’s necessary to make sure that our fans are entertained.” Said Phakamani.
“We are pleading with the people of Bizana, our fans and the general public to help us win this year’s award” he continued. 039 Kings, formerly known as Sbhiza Lounge back in the days has been part of the entertainment culture in Bizana and after their hit single with Durban Producer and DJ, DJ Spin that was followed by the nomination things seem to be looking up for the duo. “Our fans and the general public voted for us to top the Gagasi charts for more than two weeks and I am confident that they can help us win this award”. He concluded.
Voting lines are currently opened and will be closing on the 30th of December 2020 with the date of the award ceremony set to be announced in the due course of the month.
