I think President Zuma has opened the eyes of many and created a better understanding of the constitution by the majority of South Africans. Dali Mpofu, Tembeka, Muzi Sikhakhane and other lawyers during this period managed to teach the public about our constitution and various remedies for the protection of rights. Very few lawyers knew that there is a remedy for the rescission of a constitutional court order. Adv Mpofu opened the eyes of many and thought the majority of lawyers about this legal remedy. Even constitutional gurus, such as Pierre lost until Adv Mpofu gave this free lecture.
Zuma will leave a legacy for many in South Africa. Our jurisprudence has been enriched by him. Despite all allegations, and campaigns against, Zuma remains popular in South Africa. You undermine him on your own. I m worried that this may bring back untold violence in the country. We may undermine. I can foresee infiltration, escalation, emergency of acts of terrorism and reuniting of the wounded, mobilization of external forces and inevitably activation of terrorist groups and networks.
During this period, I encourage members of the PUBLIC to be strong. We must protect the Constitution, and remain resolute on the independence of the judiciary, rule of law and freedom of the press. We will encourage all South Africans to stand firm and protect our principles and identity. No amount of provocation, intimidation or any other form of aggression must displace us from our ideological identity.
