Back to School Initiative Boosts Zamokuhle Junior Secondary School

The Office of the Premier, in collaboration with key partners including the Alfred Nzo District Municipality (ANDM) and the Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Local Municipality (WMMLM), visited Zamokuhle Junior Secondary School today as part of a province-wide back-to-school initiative aimed at supporting rural education.

Leading the delegation was ANDM Executive Mayor, Cllr TD Mafumbatha, who oversaw the distribution of essential supplies. Students received school uniforms, sanitary towels, and garden equipment donated by various departments. The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to improve learning conditions for pupils in under-resourced rural schools.

During the event, Cllr Mhlelembana highlighted the critical role of the Department of Education in ensuring sustained support for rural institutions. “It is imperative that we collectively work to bridge the resource gap in our rural schools,” Mhlelembana said.

“We urge the Department of Education to prioritize providing essential services and materials to foster a conducive learning environment.”

The campaign marks a positive step toward enhancing educational outcomes for learners at Zamokuhle JSS and reflects a broader commitment to improving infrastructure and resources for schools across the Alfred Nzo District.
