Attacq Partners with Rise Against Hunger to Pack 430,000 Meals

Attacq, the JSE-listed Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), is proud to launch its 2025 Rise Against Hunger campaign, organising community meal packing events across its retail hubs from 16 to 18 July 2025.  Rise Against Hunger mobilises communities to tackle food insecurity across Africa, providing life-saving nutrition and empowering individuals to help vulnerable families. Attacq’s involvement across multiple retail environments amplifies this impact.

In 2024, Attacq’s partnership with Rise Against Hunger saw 1,898 volunteers come together to pack over 31.5 tons of food, providing 425,736 meals that benefited 1,851 families across South Africa with meals for a year. Building on this success, Attacq’s 2025 ambition is to match—and, with community support, exceed—these figures.

Attacq is calling on corporate South Africa to join this initiative by sponsoring a meal packing table at one of the four malls across the country where their staff and teams would be able to pack meals. Sponsorship starts at R12 950 per table and corporates are able to either increase their sponsorship per table or opt for sponsoring more than one table.

“At Attacq, we believe in creating thriving, sustainable communities,” says Janine Palm, Social Executive at Attacq. “Our partnership with Rise Against Hunger gives corporates a tangible way to make a difference. We encourage businesses to support this initiative and in doing so help end hunger.”

Meal packing dates and locations:

  • 16 July – Eikestad Mall (Stellenbosch), Lynnwood Bridge (Pretoria)
  • 18 July – Mall of Africa (waterfall City Park)

“Our mission is to aim to end hunger by 2030—and this is only possible through partnerships and corporate sponsorship. Together, we are helping ensure that vulnerable children receive the nutrition they need to grow, learn and thrive,” says Rise Against Hunger Africa CEO, Brian Nell.
