The African National Congress (ANC) in the Nelson Mandela Region has confirmed that it will host its 7th Regional Conference from 14–16 November 2025 at Nelson Mandela University’s Goldfields Auditorium in Gqeberha. The event will bring together delegates from across the region to deliberate on key party renewal and development issues.
What Happened
The regional task team announced that the conference will centre on strengthening the ANC’s renewal agenda, advancing socio-economic development, and upholding democracy. Delegates will also discuss regional and national challenges impacting both the Nelson Mandela Region and South Africa as a whole.
Official Response
According to the statement, this conference follows the reconstitution of the regional structure earlier this year. The Task Team, appointed in January 2025, is led by Comrade Babalwa Lobishe (Convener) and Comrade Siphiwo Tshaka (Coordinator).
The ANC says the gathering will play a crucial role in shaping the region’s political direction and building a united, democratic, and prosperous future.
Community Impact
The conference is expected to renew focus on local governance, strengthen coordination among ANC branches, and reaffirm the party’s long-term commitment to community-driven leadership and transformation.
