AmaMpondo king Zanozuko Tyelovuyo Sigcau (Zanozuko!) was laid to rest today, 21 June 2022 in an initially but finally dramatic way.
Prince Mbasa Sigcau of AmaFaku royal family accused South African government of ignoring the court verdict that ruled in their favour as “legitimate royal family”.
The funeral of His Majesty, King Zanozuko ka Zwelidumile Sigcau started late in the morning with the Royal House perfoming their rituals before they handed over to the government. Kings from almost all over the country praised King Zanozuko as a king who longed for the development of AmaMpondo.
However, tables turned from peaceful to chaotic as Prince Mbasa went to the stage and addressed the family and government, accusing them of “dishonesty”.
“There is a court order and it is clear about who are the legitimate Royal family members and now government is dealing with people who are not supposed to be part of this as they have been declared illegitimate by the court” said Prince Mbasa Sigcau.
He added that it will be misleading of him not to adress the issue as he believed he will seem to support “dishonesty”.
“I believe we have to correct this matter once and for all and put it on public that members who were always contesting the kingship pretend to support King Zanozuko” He added
