Alfred Nzo netball chairperson Nondumiso Quvane Magini says they are overwhelmed by these news because the region’s flag is being recognized in the highest level of magnificent completion.
“Even though our team had a bad start in these games but having a sharp striking force helped them to paralyze our opponents, we are proud of them as the region.” said Quvane Magini.
Alfred Nzo netball senior team coach Xoliswa Mbulawa has been coaching the team for the past 4 years, and thus far she has helped this team to elevate to greater heights.
Mbulawa says in her first year of coaching this team she won bronze medal because of the rule that says if a team does not have a white player or black player on their team, 6 goals are being deducted before the game starts. 2021, playing the same competition in Cape Town they won the gold medal, 2022 in North West Alfred Nzo netball senior team brought back another gold medal, yet again in 2023 playing Rustenburg Alfred Nzo won gold medal.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to coach this team because our region has vast quality players that makes it easy for me as a coach to plan accordingly. I have three players that are playing in Telkom netball championship; therefore their experience brings another dynamic in our team” says Mbulawa
Mbulawa further says their moto as a team is to play each game with well-planned strategies, same attitude and a winning momentum.
“We cannot afford to fall behind in this competition, starting from 2021 where we were in B4 division we won gold medal. In 2022 we were in B3 division, and we won gold medal again. Now in 2023 we are in B2 division, and we won gold medal again. This shows that we cannot afford to fall behind instead we are gunning for higher division next year.” said Mbulawa
