The Alfred Nzo District Municipality (ANDM) is mourning the passing of Cllr. Tshepo Sheane, a respected public servant and community leader who died on 25 March 2025. Cllr. Sheane, who hailed from Ward 13 in Mpharane village under Matatiele Local Municipality, is being remembered for his humility, commitment, and service to the people of the district.
Cllr. Sheane began his political career in 2019 when he joined the Council of Matatiele Local Municipality, contributing to the Human Settlements, Community Services, Public Participation, and Petitions Committees. After the 2021 Local Government Elections, he became a Proportional Representative Councillor at ANDM, where he served on the Standing Committee for Corporate Services.
Speaker of the District Council, Cllr. Sixolile Mehlomakhulu, expressed profound sadness at the loss. “We have been robbed of such a humble and dedicated member of Council who served the people of the District with excellence,” he said.
