The Alfred Nzo District Municipality (ANDM) and Umzimvubu Local Municipality (ULM) have been recognised for excellence at the Premier’s Annual Strategic Leadership Engagement. The event, held on the 5th November in East London, honored both municipalities for achieving Unqualified Audit Outcomes with No Findings in the 2023/2024 financial year.

The Premier’s Annual Strategic Leadership Engagement is a key governance event that brings together leaders across the Eastern Cape. Attendees included MECs, Executive Mayors, the Director-General, Heads of Departments, CEOs, Municipal Managers, Chief Financial Officers, Chief Risk Officers, and Chief Audit Executives.
During the ceremony, ANDM and ULM stood out for their consistent dedication to clean administration and transparent financial practices. The recognition celebrates years of structured financial management and an unshakable commitment to accountability.

Executive Mayor Vukile Mhlelembana of Alfred Nzo District Municipality and Zukiswa Ndevu, Mayor of Umzimvubu Local Municipality, both expressed gratitude for the recognition.

Mayor Ndevu added,
