ABC MOTSEPE ROUND UP: THOHOYANDOU FC HUMBLED BY THE CHAMPS AT HOME; BIZANA PONDO CHIEFS DROPS MORE POINTS WHILE SINENKANI FC CONTINUE WITH THEIR RAMPANT RUN

It was a weekend of mixed fortunes for the Bizana teams in the ABC Motsepe League this weekend with newbies, Thohoyandou FC experiencing their first defeat at the hands of the current Eastern Cape ABC Motsepe League reigning champions, BCM Stars. Bizana Pondo Chiefs continued their dormant start to the season after dropping two valuable points against Highbury FC. It looked to be a dismal outing for Bozana teams before the green outfit, Sinenkani FC were able to salvage some pride for the rest of troops after their emphatic win over Birmingham City FC.

Spears of the Nation had a weekend off after it was confirmed that they had no game for the weekend. The Blue Nation is currently at position 7 on the Stream A log with just one point after drawing to Bizana Pondo Chiefs in the Bizana derby.

Stream A

Bizana Pondo Chiefs 1 – 1 Highbury FC

Bizana Pondo Chiefs continued to drop more points this season after playing out to a 1 – 1 draw against Highbury FC this Saturday, 30 October 2021. The Lions of Skoomplas let a one nil lead slip through their fingers after Ndumiso Mbhele gave them a lead just 3 minutes into the game. A lead that many faithful fans had hoped they will be able to protect but Highbury FC manged to claw back into the game salvaging a point in the tightly contested encounter. The Hunters are currently on the 5th position on the log with just two points in as many games.

Spears of the Nation Had no Games

Bizana Pondo Chiefs neighbours and rivals in Stream A, Spears of the Nation had no fixture this past weekend and are currently placed just three spots above the bottom of the log with one point after playing out to a nil all draw in the Bizana Derby in their opening fixture.

Stream B

Thohoyondou FC 1 – 3 BCM Stars FC

After opening their account with an impressive win over Birmingham FC in their first ever game in the ABC Motsepe League, newbies, Thohoyandou FC were baptised in a pool of fire in their own backyard by reigning champions of the Eastern Cape ABC Motsepe League, BCM Stars FC on Saturday, 30 October 2021. The visitors put 3 past the home side to claim all three points on the road in the thrilling encounter with the home side managing to score a solitary goal. Thohoyandou FC are currently seated  at position five after one win and a loss in two games.

Sinenkani FC 2 – 0 Birmingham City FC

The stubborn Green Outfit from Bizana seems to be making winning a habit after securing a place in the Nedbank Cup last 32 and having made a perfect start to their league campaign after walloping Bush Pirates in their opening game. This past Saturday, Sinenkani FC were at home against Birmingham FC and they made their home advantage count by putting two goals past their rivals, claiming the full three points plus the number one spot in Stream B.
