Oyama Tamela (23) has revealed that it has not  been easy for her to pursue modelling. Oyama hails from Saphukanduku locality, in Ntabankulu and she is very passionate about modelling. She says she has been passionate about the industry for a while but she got discouraged by negative outlook the community has about modelling at times. However, she did not surrender as she fully joined  the industry in 2019. Despite all the challenges Oyama made it to the finals in different beauty pageants.
“I have  the passion of giving back to the community hence I thought modelling will be a good platform  for  me to do that” says Oyama.
She further said in this journey it is not easy at all as she comes across challenges;
“This industry  favours the most those who are monied and I lack financial support” added A girl who has just scooped  an award of Best personality in a pageant  that was held on the 28 August.
Oyama says she is hoping to fly high in this industry as it is not only showcasing her talent but also serves as a platform of laying a helping  hand to the community. She added that the youth who are passionate about the industry should never be apologetic about their  intelligence and your personality as it qualifies you to be a people’s person”.
Oyama has urged those  who can assist  with final support for her to fly high and to keep  on giving back to the community.
