PROVINCIAL COMMISSIONER CONFERS NEW RANKS TO FOUR DISTRICT COMMISSIONERS

The energetic and hardworking four senior managers in the Eastern Cape Province who their appointments as District Commissioners were announced during the SAPS Excellence Awards last week, and today the four senior officers officially joined the elite class of Major Generals, as the  Provincial Commissioner conferred new ranks to the newly promoted Major Generals today.

PROVINCIAL COMMISSIONER CONFERS NEW RANKS TO FOUR  DISTRICT COMMISSIONERS

On Tuesday 6 December 2022, The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nomthetheleli Mene officially conferred new ranks to the four newly promoted District Commissioners, and their promotion forms part of the succession strategic plan of any organisation, and SAPS is not exempted from that process, and it is the exercise of reinforcement of the human capital, and subsequently to ameliorate service delivery.   Their appointment completes the process of the appointment of eight District Commissioners in the province. The officers were promoted as follows:

Brigadier Lindelwa Vellem was promoted to the rank of a Major General, and to assume her new position as the District Commissioner of Joe Gqabi, after working as the Station Commander of Kwazakhele.

Brigadier Zolani Xawuka was promoted to the rank of a Major General, and to assume his new position as the District Commissioner of Sarah Baartman, having worked as the Station Commander of Bethelsdorp.

Brigadier Ngangema Xakavu was promoted to the rank of a Major General, and to assume his position as the District Commissioner of Amathole, and was acting in the same position.

Brigadier Nompumelelo Majikijela was promoted to the rank of a Major General, having acted in the same position.

Lt Gen Mene in welcoming the new Major Generals, “This is a ground-breaking moment whereby the province has managed to fill the vacant posts of senior managers in one year.As you undertake this new journey and assuming your responsibilities at another level, it goes without saying that there will be a legitimate expectation for a new culture of work and amplified performance standard at a different level”
