Amathole District Municipality handed over 22 new service delivery vehicles on 02 December 2025. The vehicles will support the Engineering Department and the Fire Services Unit. Both units play a central role in delivering reliable and efficient services across the district.
What Happened
The municipality described the fleet handover as an important investment. The new vehicles will help improve response times. They will also enhance community support and strengthen day-to-day operations in villages and towns.
Employees welcomed the handover. Many said the vehicles would make it easier to reach communities quickly and complete essential service-delivery tasks. Management also expressed confidence in the positive impact these resources will bring. Councillor Nomonde Geza attended the handover. She serves as the Portfolio Head for Engineering. Director Corporate Services, Dr Vuyo Dlelaphantsi, was also present.
Why It Matters
ADM said the investment will improve the quality of services delivered to residents. The new fleet will assist with water and sanitation work, road support, fire response and emergency management. Officials said the vehicles form part of the district’s effort to strengthen service delivery where it matters most.
