What Happened
KSD Municipality delivered a support package to Kwaiman’s Ward 27 livestock owners as part of its rural agriculture programme. The package included 2 Ivomec Super Injectables and 10 Zeropar dipp units, which are essential for parasite control and general livestock care.
Farmers welcomed the support, saying the medication will ease the burden of treating cattle in a period marked by rising veterinary costs.
Official Response
Representing MMC Dudumayo, Councillor Nkathu said the municipality remains committed to strengthening livestock production across rural communities. “Our goal is simple, we want healthier livestock and better outcomes for local farmers. Access to proper medication is key to protecting animals and improving household livelihoods,” said Nkathu.
Officials noted that the programme forms part of ongoing efforts to equip dipp tanks with adequate resources and ensure farmers receive consistent support.
Community Impact
The handover is expected to reduce livestock losses linked to parasites and improve herd productivity in Ward 27. Farmers say reliable dipp tank medication helps maintain cattle health and supports income stability for rural households.
