The Mbhashe Local Municipality is hosting an Intergovernmental Relations (IGR) Forum meeting at the Municipal Council Chambers in Dutywa on 20 November 2025. Chaired by Acting Executive Mayor Nombomgo Apleni, the session brings key government departments together to review their progress for the 2025/26 financial year and address pressing community needs.
What Happened
The IGR Forum opened this morning as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen service delivery and improve living conditions for communities across Mbhashe. The meeting provides a structured platform for departments to outline current projects, report on challenges, and propose solutions that support better planning and coordination.
Representatives in attendance include Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism (DEDEAT), SAPS, Amathole District Municipality, Department of Human Settlements, Madalweni Hospital, Department of Education, Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency (ECPTA), Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE), Stats SA, Department of Agriculture, Eskom, South African Local Government Association (SALGA), Ward Councillors, and Mbhashe Local Municipality officials.
