King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality’s Executive Mayor, Councillor G.N. Nelani, led a major Mayoral Imbizo in the Ngweni area on 12 November 2025, where four wards,19, 20, 21, and 28, converged. The session brought municipal leaders, senior officials, and key government departments together. Residents received progress updates on core service delivery issues and raised urgent community concerns.
What Happened
The municipality hosted the outreach to strengthen direct communication with the affected wards. Leaders presented progress on critical issues, including water supply, roads, electricity, and school infrastructure.
Residents also raised challenges around scholar transport and requested faster interventions, especially in areas facing long-standing service backlogs. Government departments set up service desks to assist the community throughout the event.
Official Response
Executive Mayor Nelani said the Imbizo was part of an ongoing commitment to accountable and responsive governance. “We cannot fix problems without listening to our people, Today, we came with our teams because every issue raised must be followed by action. Ngweni deserves reliable services, and we are working to close the gaps,” he said.

These departments delivered on-site services such as document support, transport updates, and health assistance.
Community Impact
Residents appreciated the presence of multiple departments working together in one space. Many said the Imbizo helped restore confidence as they could raise issues directly with decision-makers. Others emphasized the need for continuous follow-up, particularly on water and road infrastructure.
