The King Sabata Dalindyebo (KSD) Municipality’s Rural Economic Development Department handed over agricultural inputs to the Greenfields Agricultural Cooperative in Qokolweni, Ward 35, on 7 November 2025. The handover was led by Councillor Reuber on behalf of MMC for Rural Economic Development, Councillor Dudumayo.
What Happened
The cooperative received a full support package to strengthen its crop production.
The inputs included:
• 6 × 50kg bags of fertiliser
• 4 × 50kg bags of LAN
• Agro chemicals for crop protection
The municipality said the assistance is part of its ongoing programme to uplift rural farmers and improve food security.
Official Response
Councillor Reuber said the municipality aims to ensure that every cooperative has the tools needed to grow. “This support helps farmers increase productivity and strengthen the rural economy,” he said.
He added that the KSD leadership will continue rolling out similar interventions across wards.
Community Impact
The Greenfields Cooperative welcomed the inputs, saying they will boost planting activities for the coming season. Local farmers noted that the assistance will reduce production costs, improve yields, and create better income opportunities for families in Ward 35.
