The Eastern Cape Provincial Treasury, in partnership with the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), convened a two-day Technical Directors’ Forum at Imvomvo Country Lodge in the Alfred Nzo District Municipality.
The session aimed to enhance coordination between provincial and municipal structures, improve infrastructure delivery, and create a strong network of senior technical personnel responsible for municipal projects. The Forum also sought to share best practices, develop strategies for addressing conditional infrastructure performance, and explore alternative funding options to close service delivery gaps.

Chairperson of the Eastern Cape Technical Directors’ Forum (ECTDF), Ms. Nombasa Msebi, said the gathering was a step toward building a unified provincial approach to infrastructure challenges.
“The guiding framework seeks to assist technical directors in addressing the challenges faced within their working environment and beyond. It also helps create a solid network among technical leaders in the Eastern Cape,” she explained.
Alfred Nzo District Municipal Manager, Mr. Zamile Sikhundla, encouraged attendees to engage deeply on local government issues, noting the urgent need to tackle infrastructure backlogs and improve service delivery across the province.
