The Raymond Mhlaba Local Municipality, in collaboration with various government departments and public agencies, provided essential services to the community of Dorringkloof in KwaMaqoma on 28 October 2025. Mayor Nomhle Sango led the outreach, which aimed to reduce travel costs and ensure residents receive basic services faster.

What Happened?

The service-delivery outreach brought multiple services under one roof. Departments such as Health, Home Affairs, Social Development, Education, SAPS, and the IEC assisted residents. They offered screenings, medication, social support, road safety education, UIF processing, and legal guidance.

Residents welcomed the convenience and the relief of not having to travel long distances for critical help.

“We want services to reach you where you live,” said Mayor Nomhle Sango. “We are here with all government departments to ensure everyone receives full support.”

Official Response

Mayor Sango remains committed to improving access to services in rural communities. The municipality plans to schedule more visits to areas facing transport challenges and high travel costs.

The goal is to ensure residents feel seen and valued, especially those living in remote villages.

Community Impact

The program removed financial barriers and offered immediate access to healthcare checks, children’s vaccinations, legal aid, employment support, and identity documentation updates.

Many residents expressed gratitude, noting that outreach visits reduce economic strain and improve overall well-being.

A return visit is expected soon to continue supporting the community’s needs.
