- Enhancing Early Childhood Education: The donation of educational toys aims to make learning enjoyable and foster a strong academic foundation, encouraging a lifelong love for learning among children.
- Focus on Under-Resourced Areas: This initiative is part of a broader effort to improve early childhood development and provide quality educational materials to children in rural and under-resourced communities.
On 8 September 2025, MEC Sibulele Ngongo handed over educational toys to Deberha ECDC in honor of International Literacy Day celebrations. Speaking at the event, MEC Ngongo explained that these toys are more than just playthings, they are essential tools for a child’s early development.
She stressed that educational toys stimulate growth by teaching problem-solving and critical thinking skills from a young age. They also nurture social and emotional abilities by encouraging children to interact, share, and develop empathy. According to MEC Ngongo, such play-based learning methods make the education process enjoyable, helping to build a strong academic foundation while fostering a lifelong love for learning.
MEC Ngongo noted that giving children the right start in education is key to unlocking future opportunities and improving literacy levels across communities.
