The Alfred Nzo District Municipality (ANDM) has announced the appointment of Mr. Makaya Dungu as Acting Municipal Manager for a period of three months, or until the vacant post is permanently filled, whichever comes first. The decision was made during a special virtual Council meeting held on Friday, 22 August 2025, and takes effect immediately.
This appointment follows the conclusion of the acting term of Mr. Onke Diko, who initially served from 17 February 2025 to 17 May 2025. His tenure was extended for a further three months, ending on 22 August 2025.
Mr. Dungu currently leads the Infrastructure Development and Municipal Services (IDMS) unit at ANDM. With his new role, he is expected to continue driving the municipality’s strategic agenda, focusing on enhancing service delivery, strengthening administrative systems, and ensuring that communities have access to quality services.
A key priority under his leadership will be improving reliable water supply, a critical service for the people of Alfred Nzo. The Council expressed confidence that his experience and leadership will ensure stability during this transition period.
