The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in the Ngqushwa Sub-Region celebrated Women’s Day alongside the women of eMaxhegweni in Ward 10, in an event led by deployee Fighter Funeka Moshani and SRILC Coordinator Fighter Bongiwe Mandoyi. The gathering included a community meal, symbolising solidarity and care.
The EFF said the commemoration was not merely ceremonial, but a call to action to intensify the struggle against patriarchy, gender-based violence, economic exclusion, and the ongoing marginalisation of women.In their address, party representatives emphasised the need to honour the fearless women of South Africa’s past by building a future where women lead, own land, and are politically liberated in their lifetime.
The event formed part of the EFF’s broader Women’s Month programme, which focuses on both grassroots community engagement and political advocacy aimed at advancing gender equality in the Eastern Cape.
