To mark the beginning of Women’s Month, various law enforcement agencies officially launched this year’s celebrations at the Matatiele Traffic Testing Grounds on 5 August 2025.

The event began with a parade showcasing the discipline and pride of women in uniform, marching from the Matatiele Town Hall to the Traffic Office, in honour of their strength and contribution within the Alfred Nzo District.

This integrated initiative brought together members of the South African Police Service (SAPS), South African National Defence Force (SANDF), Traffic Services, Immigration, and other key agencies, demonstrating unity and commitment under the banner of Women’s Month.

SAPS Alfred Nzo District Commissioner, Major General Nompumelelo Majikijela, highlighted the importance of the event in promoting safety, visibility, and inspiring young unemployed women to consider careers in law enforcement.
