The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed that payments for the COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant for July 2025 will be processed between 25 and 31 July 2025.
This applies to all clients who have been approved for the month. However, beneficiaries are advised that the exact payment date will depend on their bank’s processing timelines. To find out when their funds will reflect, clients should visit the official SRD portal and check their status.
Why Some Beneficiaries Are Still Waiting
SASSA has also addressed concerns from clients who are approved but have not yet received payment. Common reasons include:
- Incorrect or unverified banking details
- Applications marked as referred
- Identity verification still pending
What To Do If You’re Approved but Not Paid
Beneficiaries are urged to:
- Log in to srd.sassa.gov.za
- Navigate to the ‘Check Referred Status’ section
- Verify or amend banking details and complete ID prompts
- Contact the call centre at 0800 601 011 if no payment is received after the scheduled period
Once banking information is verified, SASSA assures that clients will be included in the next payment run.
The agency continues to emphasize transparency and efficiency in the SRD process, reminding clients that no one will be paid until all bank details are verified.
