The Alfred Nzo District Municipality has appointed Ms Sihle Khuzo as Acting Chief Financial Officer (CFO), following the resignation of Mrs Unathi Mahlasela. The appointment, made during a Special Virtual Council Meeting on Wednesday, 30 April 2025, will take effect from 1 May 2025 for a period not exceeding three months.
Ms Khuzo currently oversees Expenditure, Budget Reporting and Annual Financial Statements (AFS) within the municipality and is expected to steer the institution’s finances while the recruitment process for a permanent CFO is underway.
The meeting was chaired by Council Speaker Cllr Sixolile Mehlomakhulu, and also received and adopted the third-quarter financial and institutional performance reports for both the Alfred Nzo District Municipality (ANDM) and the Alfred Nzo Development Agency (ANDA), in terms of Section 52(d) of the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA).
Commenting on the Risk Adjusted Strategy (RAS) implementation report, Cllr Mehlomakhulu emphasised the importance of full budget utilisation.
“All allocated grants must be spent in delivering services to the people of Alfred Nzo. We cannot afford underspending and underperformance. We need to comply with all aspects of non-negotiables,” he said.
The municipality has committed to ensuring financial compliance and effective service delivery during this transitional period.
