On Monday,14 April 2025 six men accused of the horrific murders of 18 people in Lusikisiki appeared for the first time in the Mthatha High Court, Eastern Cape. The case, previously handled by the Lusikisiki Regional Court, has been postponed to May 16, 2025, allowing the defense to prepare for trial.

The suspects: Mzukisi Ndamase (46), Siphosoxolo Myekethe (45), Aphiwe “AP” Ndende (25), Bonga Hintsa (31), Mawethu Nomdlembu (36), and Songezo Vuma (20) are facing a litany of serious charges, including conspiracy to commit murder, 18 counts of murder, kidnapping, robbery with aggravating circumstances, and unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.

These charges stem from a horrific shooting that occurred on September 28, 2024, in Ngobozana Village, where the community was shattered when 18 individuals lost their lives in an act of violence. The defendants are also linked to the murder of local politician Mncedi Gijana, which took place in KwaBhaca on August 19, 2024.
