The Wild Coast Sun Resort is continuing its upward trajectory with further upgrades, this time to its health and fitness centre.

Sun International’s only beach resort has formed a partnership with One Life Fitness Centre, and on December 1, will open two state-of-the-art gyms; one designated for hotel guests and the other for staff and surrounding local residents.

This comes after the resort was upgraded to a four-star by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa last year in the wake of several improvements.

Founders of One Life Fitness Centre, Desmond van Booma and Zuko Mhlekwa have steadily built a brand that has won the affection of many lower South Coast residents through their pure passion for health and fitness.

“The launch of One Life Fitness Centre at Wild Coast Sun brings an important health, wellness and fitness component for Wild Coast Sun guests who want to work out while on holiday,” said Wild Coast Sun General Manager Peter Tshidi. “We are pleased that Desmond and Zuko’s love for healthy living and good vibes will be shared with everyone who visits and works at the Wild Coast Sun.”

Not only will One Life add value to Wild Coast Sun guests, but residents in and around the resort will also get to experience a quality fitness environment, with access to experienced personal trainers, nutritional advice, fitness boot camps, state-of-the-art equipment and friendly staff at One Life Fitness Centre.

“One Life promotes a healthy lifestyle, which so many more people have realised the importance of during the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Mhlekwa. “We are into functional fitness and have Assault bikes, treadmills, rowing machines, plate-loaded weight machines, punching bags, jump boxes and a wide range of weights.”

The resort already offers plenty of outdoor exercise opportunities, from golf to canoeing to beach walks, a water park, tennis and horse riding, but if that’s not enough, there are also many adventures to be found in the area. Take your pick from deep-sea fishing charters, rock, surf, fly and spearfishing, scuba diving and hiking trails.

The two new facilities, located separately on the resort, open in time to welcome guests staying for the festive season.

Hotel guests have free use of the gym during their stay, while the community gym will be accessible to the public at various membership packages.
