Matatiele Local Municipality has announced the appointment of Mr. Ndabuko Masumpa as the new Head of Communications and Spokesperson, effective February 3, 2025. This appointment follows the resignation of the former spokesperson, Mr. Luncedo Walaza.
Mr. Masumpa brings over a decade of experience in Government Communication Systems, having previously served as the Head of Communications and Spokesperson for the Alfred Nzo District Municipality from 2012 to 2017. He also held the position of Senior Communications Officer at the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) for five years.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Masumpa to the team. His appointment is expected to reinforce communication development in the institution,” said Municipal Manager Mr. Lizo Matiwane. “He has consistently excelled in exploring diverse channels to ensure comprehensive engagement with all stakeholders.”
Mr. Masumpa’s impressive background in communication and stakeholder management, combined with his academic achievements, including a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and a certificate in Journalism and Media Studies, make him an ideal candidate for the position. He is currently pursuing an Honours Degree in Development Studies.
As the new Head of Communications and Spokesperson, Mr. Masumpa is expected to lead the municipality’s communications system and ensure effective engagement with stakeholders.
