Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Local Municipality Spreads Festive Cheer to Elderly and Child-Headed Households

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, the Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Local Municipality hosted a festive event for elderly residents and child-headed households at the Oliver and Adelaide Tambo Regional Hospital.

The event aimed to bring joy to those who need it most, and the municipality went all out to make it a special day. Christmas grocery vouchers were distributed to the elderly guests, enabling them to purchase festive treats and essentials. Sweet treats, including cakes, were also handed out to add to the festive spirit.

In addition to the vouchers and treats, the municipality set up a health station at the event, providing elderly residents with an opportunity to undergo health check-ups and receive medical advice. This thoughtful gesture demonstrated the municipality’s commitment to caring for its elderly and vulnerable residents.

Mayor Cllr.
