The Eastern Cape Department of Rural Development and Agrarian Reform (DRDAR) has launched a new digital news show, Iindaba zika DRDAR, featuring the legendary former SABC isiXhosa news anchor, Noxolo Grootboom. This initiative aims to educate and engage the public on the department’s rural development and agricultural programs.

The first bulletin of Iindaba zika DRDAR aired on October 31 from a digital radio and TV studio in East London, showcasing DRDAR’s commitment to local business support and community development. The show, streamed on DRDAR’s Facebook and YouTube channels, will provide updates on the department’s projects, share success stories of local enterprises, and foster public awareness of government initiatives that drive rural and agricultural growth.

Keith Ngesi Digital TV, a local media company, has been contracted to provide production and technical services for the broadcasts. By partnering with a local firm, DRDAR further supports regional business development.

Upcoming episodes of Iindaba zika DRDAR will be broadcast on November 21, November 28, and December 5, 2024.
