The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has released the payment schedule for social grants for October 2024.
Older Persons Grants will be paid fromDates Wednesday, October 2, along with Child Support and Foster Care Grants linked to beneficiaries of the Old Age Grant.
Disability Grants, including any linked grants, will be available from Thursday, October 4.
All other grants will be paid from Friday, October 5.
SASSA has also reminded beneficiaries that they have the option to open bank accounts with an institution of their choice, giving them greater control over their funds. SASSA and SAPO cards can still be used as debit cards at ATMs and various merchants, including Spar, Checkers, Shoprite, Boxer, Pick n Pay, and Cambridge.
Beneficiaries are urged to keep their SASSA cards and PINs secure and to avoid sharing their PINs with anyone to prevent fraud.
