A devastating car accident on the N2 KwaBhaca highway near Dangwana village has claimed the lives of three people, with four others injured. The crash occurred at approximately 08:00 am when a Toyota van carrying five passengers traveling from KwaBhaca to Qumbu collided head-on with a VW Polo carrying two occupants.
Both occupants of the VW Polo and one passenger in the Toyota van died at the scene. The four injured men, including the driver of the van, were rushed to Madzikane Ka Zulu Memorial Hospital in KwaBhaca for medical attention.
According to reports, reckless driving on wet roads or bad weather conditions is believed to be the main cause of the accident. A case of culpable homicide has been opened at KwaBhaca SAPS for further investigation.
