The Qaukeni Great Place released a media statement removing itself from an unauthorized invitation of the Mpondo Nation to a meeting that has been circulating dated to be on 25 of July 2023; declaring that such meetings are not held without informing and consulting all traditional leaders (Amakhosi).
The media statement suggested that kingdom meetings are held at the Royal Homestead, Qaukeni Great Place and they reach all the traditional structures there distancing the Royal House from an invitation that seem to have missed and undermined all the protocol of ikomkhulu.
The Kingdom further desires to highlight that there is a standing Judgement setting aside the appointment of Zanozuko as King of amaMpondo which judgement still stands. Moreover, the judgement has set aside all government gazette relating such an appointment. The media statement emphasised that no one has the right to call imbizo of the Mpondo Nation as such Authority belongs to the house of the late His Majesty King Mpondombini Sigawu.
